its saturday! i made it all week w/ perfectness. i never thought i could (or would) do so well. i have many weeks left of the challenge and hopefully not too many obstacles in the future, but i feel confident in what ive already learned & achieved!
i'm down 5 pounds already.. but tomorrow i'll chart my weekly loss. i'll only keep track each week cz i know there will be fluctuations.
last night for 45 exerc. me & kevin went for a walk together. it was awesome!! the rain was great, even tho he hates that!! but it made the walk go by fast and it was a great way to exercise & spend time together. i love him!!

this is the new website, set up for those involved in the CHALLENGE.
http://www.feelingbetteraboutme.blogspot.com/

and this is my picture/description of why i'm doing it...thats on the blog.

The challenge, by all means, scares me. They are so many 'things' that I will have to add to my daily routine. Which is the MAIN reason I'm doing it. I'm very unorganized, lack routine, and don't take care of myself at all. I'm excited to see the changes! Both physical, mental & spiritual.

i've always been a skeptical person.. meaning---that i think i have always had reasons or excuses for why i dont things or complete things. but then i think about telling other people to 'try'.. and think about what their excuses are/will be. and they sound like mine.

so what i'm learning is.. you can do anything if you really want it! doing this challenge is just one more thing i've tried..but it will be one i succeed at!

still going strong w/ perfect scores.. i'm actually enjoying all of it. i love having to make sure i've completed everything each day..having a little check list.
i think i've learned a connection w/ the pain from my dumb foot!! pretty much anything that involves jumping... so jumping jacks kill, or jump ropes, or jogging. so for now i'll stick to walking or exercise videos that do different cardio (other than jacks!)
and its early in the game, but ive lost 3 pounds so far. even if that changes or fluctuates i'm okay w/ that. its not set in stone. =) the weekend is almost here and that means a FREE DAY!!

i'm tired today. i had the chance to walk this morning (kevin didnt work) but couldnt get out of bed.
i made chicken & rice soup last night for dinner. it was good. cant wait to have it for lunch later. that will keep the guess work out of looking for something.
wish i could say that i've lost like 20 lbs. or something. . . but i'll wait on that one! i was able to complete my day again yesterday. =) maybe i do have a chance at being completely successful.

well, i made it through day 1!!
it really wasnt hard..although interesting---trying to figure out how many things i could cram into one day.
i learned i was a little obsessive about what i can/cant eat...and now that i'm set straight--it shouldnt be too hard.
me & ma made bread yesterday & went to the farmers market. i got sooo much fruit! (already had the vegs). i also learned that i'm a compulsive juicer.
seems to me i'm very obsessive & compulsive...which is why i cant figure out how i'm fat! why am i not either of those towards exercising? or eating? or anything else?
have a good day 2!! =)

well, its day ONE for the challenge.

its strange because i actually feel kinda lost, like i dont know where to go. theres so many changes that i HAVE to make! others may only have to do 1 or 2 things different. i feel like my whole list is a change-- making it even harder.
its breakfast time and i dont know what to eat. i thought i had it all figured out, but i guess i dont. i'm so afraid of eathing something only to find out it cost me a point and i messed up.
its gonna be a long week.

the challenge

(big sigh.....) again i find myself looking for answers! (or at least reasons i quit.) i have none, so its on to another attempt. (big sigh)....
this one DOES scare me, but i'm not alone in this attempt and i'm really excited to do it!!! =) i know i can do it...(really, i do)

The rules are as follows:

Each item is worth 1 point, with a possible 10 points per day

1 - 48 oz. of water
2 - 45 minutes of exercise (not necessarily consecutive)
3 - 2 servings of veggies, 2 servings of fruit
4 - No soda, beer, wine, unhealthy snacks (ex: potato chips), or bad fast food (anything fried)
5 - No sweets. (Desserts, pastries, sugary snacks & cereals) * Sugar-Free alternatives are OK.
6 - No eating after dinner/8pm
7 - 15 min. of scripture reading (or spiritual text if you don't do scripture)
8 - One journal entry (any length)
9 - Express sincere appreciation, love or praise to your spouse (if single, to another person)
10 - Personal Goal

Note: You have one free point, PER CATEGORY, PER WEEK. One free point for exercise, one free point for soda/fast food/unhealthy snacks, one free point for sweets, etc. You do not have 10 free points to use however you choose -they are NOT interchangeable and if you choose not to use a free point in a category, it is gone at weeks end. You could also just choose to have one "free" day where all points are free (which is less confusing), but we are allowing for flexibility and success!

The goal obviously is to get 10 points each day, every day. On your “free” day, you can automatically count 10 points. If you choose to have a free day on Saturday, then Sunday you eat dessert, then you would only get 9 points for Sunday. You can choose to have one free point every day if you choose to do it that way too. So if you go out for dinner on Wednesday and feel like having a soda, then you can use your free soda point. Exceptions:-You are excused from the sweet rule on YOUR BIRTHDAY.-You are allowed three sick days where you are excused (only) from exercising and eating veg/fruit/water [if you can’t eat/drink] This is ONLY to be used if you are indeed sick.
